Meet Tonya - Originally from Los Angeles, Tonya Goss has been bringing her expertise to the Nashville hair scene since 2021. Her career began right out of high school when she entered a two-year apprentice program, gaining hands-on experience with a variety of stylists. She earned her cosmetology license in 2002 and has been honing her craft ever since.


Tonya specializes in both hair color and cutting, with a particular focus on blonding. In 2012, she became an educator for a hair color company, expanding her knowledge of products and techniques and deepening her expertise as a Hair Color & Blonding Specialist. Her must-have product? A good leave-in conditioner—an essential for healthy, manageable hair.


For Tonya, her dream hair situation isn’t just about the craft; it’s about the environment. Being part of a supportive salon family is what she values most, and she’s found that dream at Local Honey.


Her favorite part of the job is starting a hair journey with her clients and building meaningful relationships along the way. She loves connecting with people and helping them achieve their vision.


Career highlights include educating on stage at the Long Beach ISSE show, a passion-filled experience that allowed her to share her love for hair with others. Another standout was working on set for the show Rock the Block, a learning experience that introduced her to a different side of the industry. She also treasures her time taking haircutting courses at Vidal Sassoon, which gave her a strong foundation in precision cutting—a skill she continues to refine.
